Michelangelo Merisi, called "Caravaggio" (approx. 1572-1610), is the most representative artist of the Roman Baroque. Some of his most important paintings are exhibited at the Doria Pamphilj Palace, such as Maddalena penitente (The Penitent Magdalene) and Fuga in Egitto (The Flight into Egypt). The Gallery also hosts an impressively large collection of paintings, sculptures and art works by worldwide renowned artists such as Raphael, Titian, Bernini, Velazquez and many more.
